And you don’t have excuses to push in some walking time under the sun in your day, another reason to get some of that good Vitamin D (or in the rain, it boosts your immune system!).

30 minutes it’s the minimum – but you could do with even less, or more!

And it’s great to cut off a few calories, because it’s something ANYONE can do!

You can even modify it to make it more effective, by brisk-walking, or by contracting your abs and it turns into a sort of low-impact cardio, and that means EVEN MORE Kcal’s gone!

Isn’t that amazing?

Think walking as a tool to complement your workout routines, or why not, even as something you can start with, if you’re new to fitness.

If you implement it in your daily activities, your overall physical performance will improve over time – and you will notice the compounding effects of it pretty soon – both in how you look and feel!

Drink your Caffeine! (Benefits and why you should)

If you already do though (and i’m sure you do), that’s fine and dandy – i’m going to give you more reasons that can convince you that -that’s right – as long as what you put in your body it’s the good kind of caffeine, it has a lot of health benefits.

So get your kettle boiling and your coffee brewing!

As you may or may not know, i’m a health and fitness fanatic, and when i stumble upon ways i didn’t know about to boost my health i become instantly a researcher about that specific topic-to see if there’s actually some truth behind it and how i can make the most out of it.

Now, let’s begin with Black Coffee – not your cappuccino or weird spiced latte. Just pure and strong Espresso, black like your hood neighbor. (And since i’m 100% Italian i’m kind of biased here, but that’s for another time)

The “indispensable” little cup of coffee represents a typically Italian rite, fruit of an ingrained habit that has brought numerous experts to give their take on this matter when it comes to the health benefits\damages that comes with this… dark beverage.

Among the countless nutritional components of coffee there is -the more known and studied- of course, caffeine! since it’s blessed with important properties like:

  • Having a stimulating effect on the gastric and bilious secretion:(That’s why it’s thought that a coffee after lunch helps with digestion)
  • Having a tonic and stimulating effect on the nervous system and the cardiac system:
    (That’s why many people appreciate its attention-enhancing effect, whether they need a boost to get through the endless pages of a tome, or just as a pick-me-up kind of thing.)
  • Its lipolytic effect, meaning it’s useful for losing weight, since the caffeine uses the fats in your body as a mean to create energy (so it burns them) and that’s why an Espresso it’s an awesome choice before working out – it enhances STILL FURTHER the fats you’re going to burn and moreover it gives you energy, neat right?!
  • It makes you feel satiated, so it is a valid aid in controlling your appetite.

This DOES NOT mean that you have to chug down countless espressi, mind you.

Because that much caffeine can have a lot of drawbacks, like everything, take it in moderation and be mindful.

To the green land!

AAAAAH. Green Tea, it might be one of my favorite teas\beverages ever! It’s so versatile and can be sipped on in any time of the day, hot during the winter or ice cold during summer when you need a refreshing healthy drink. Personally i mostly go for the hot version, even in summer.

This ancient tea comes from an ancient civilization too: China! But this variety of tea has reached all of Japan, Korea and India as well as other countries. Let’s see why you should bathe in green tea:

A Famous variety of Japanese green tea, “matcha” – the lighter one on the right it’s called ” usucha (θ–„θŒΆ, thin tea) ” and the one on the left koicha (ζΏƒθŒΆ, thick tea). As its name and color implies, it is more concentrated.
  • Delays Aging: This might be one of the most known benefits, since the Antioxidant-rich green tea neutralizes the oxidants or free radicals present in the body. Therefore, regular consumption of this tea can effectively delay the signs and symptoms of aging.
  • Has stimulating effects: Just like any other tea or coffee, since caffeine it’s present in green tea as well (even though in much less quantity than in coffee and other teas) you can use it for a nice surge of energy.
  • Boosts your immune system: Research shows that people who regularly drink green tea do not fall victim to common bacterial and viral infections as easily as those who do not add it to their diet. The catechins, present in green tea, prevent bacteria and viruses from attaching themselves to cell walls to infect them. These catechins also counter the toxins released by microbes. This antimicrobial property also protects you from bad  breath, dysentery, diarrhea, tooth decay, indigestion, flu, cough, and cold, and colitis, all of which are caused by the microbial and fungal action.
  • Improves Cardiac Health: Some elements in green tea can also lower blood pressure reducing the risk of stroke and coronary heart disease.
  • Controls Diabetes: If not taken with sugar, of course – the alkaline nature of green tea aids with reducing the blood glucose levels.

But like all things, risks are found along with these benefits as well, so if you’d like to know those risks too – let me know.

THE REASON WHY YOUR LIFE IS AT A STALEMATE

So you think you have it all figured out huh? then explain to me why your life is not vibrant and brimming with colors and excitement, instead it’s all bleak and flavorless? don’t have the answer? don’t worry, I’ll give it to you – it’s because you’re frozen…

frozen by FEAR.

But don’t get me wrong, I was too. It’s not like I’m some kind of magical creature that knows everything and has the solution to all your problems. I’m not special – I’m a human being just like you, the only thing that is different and that I overcame that fear.

The Fear of change,

The Fear of loving again after being hurt,

The Fear of failure,

The Fear of success,

The Fear of being trapped in an endless abyss with all my Fears.

But YOU can change that.

Just like I did, you just need to acknowledge that Fear, don’t try and hide it from yourself and others, DON’T run from it, whatever that is – otherwise it will stick to you and will keep on getting stronger and stronger IT WILL DRAIN YOU!, the sooner you take action to face that fear, the sooner you will be free from a burden that held you back from manifesting your true potential in every area of your life.

Want to know how to?

Here’s the trick:

  • Step out of your bubble, your comfort zone, that is where you will stack up your fears and worries, leave it and see things from another perspective.
  • Afraid of social interactions? Go out and meet people.
  • Afraid of failure? Keep trying, keep failing.
  • Afraid of living a life that’s not yours? Leave it behind along with everything that you don’t need.
  • Afraid of not being good enough? BE good enough.

Now, what is that all these things have in common?

Exactly… ACTION.

If you ACT you don’t have time to think about fear, because you’re moving forward, because you’re going for the throat and by extension, if YOU MOVE, if YOU DO what you’re saying you’re going to do, fear can’t keep up with you and cast its shadow upon you.

It’s your choice, a simple one,

Think about it, what if you just did whatever you’re afraid of?

Your life will change dramatically,

But you have to do it, switch your brain and emotions off and dive in.

What happened? Exactly, you’re still alive at the end of it, and now you have conquered your fears.

MASCULINITY AND THE POWER TO OVERCOME

My last article ended with a quote from a person whom i admire very much, Bruce Lee, and i thought that linking him to today’s topic was a thing i felt it was right. Bruce, in my book – is a perfect example of Masculinity : He was an overall achiever, he had objectives on which he never gave up (The acting career) and he was, and probably still is the greatest Martial Artist the world has ever known.

Masculinity today, at times it’s seen like a (and let me put emphasis on the quotes) “”Toxic”” trait. I personally completely disagree with that, as it is something that’s intrinsic to the very nature of a man, how can something we’re born with be toxic? and apart from that, masculinity is a very strong and positive force, Men are moved because of it, are inspired to do good because of it, they take ACTION to better their (and other’s!) life because of it. I will link you to a channel that explains this in a very good way – it’s a short video but it’s full of meaning when confronted with a lot of stupid nonsense some people are spouting nowadays. Watch it if you have time :

Now, why do i link masculinity with Bruce Lee though? well, i personally think that when a Man rises against all odds to realize something that’s really important for him – that’s when he really shines. Bruce was the peak of human strength and performance, but he didn’t accomplish all of this overnight, of course – behind his success there’s a tortuous and long process with which he achieved his strength. While he simply liked to stay in shape but more importantly to Fight, in this way he wanted to show others (but first and foremost he did this for himself, to better its abilities) that he was better at it – you know, some good competition that gave as a fruit the obvious, sought after byproduct of Mastery.

And here comes the good part :

But why does a man put himself into so much trouble to accomplish something? you’d think it’s just to satisfy himself right?

Yes…
BUT NO.

While Martial arts can be seen as destructive, some Men (and Women, even though these traits are more prominent in Men) teach them not to just “be stronger” which in itself is a consequence – but to Protect something, someone, dear to them.
The rising of certain characteristics such as Heroism, Selflessness, Sacrifice, Kindness, Relentlessness – always spurs because of a greater reason that you can’t see on the surface, martial arts it’s just an example very dear to me, but there are countless different situations – as you’ve seen in the video – where masculinity can be applied to.

In the end, i don’t think that masculinity should be overwhelmed with attacks that won’t really go anywhere, as it’s not synonym of violence, as some degenerates love to claim.

Like femininity, masculinity it’s simply a collection of traits found since the birth of human beings, into men. For either sexes to not express themselves like nature programmed them to, it’s foolish and unnatural in my honest opinion, and what REALLY should be “condemned” it’s the toxicity of an individual itself. No one, and i repeat : NO ONE should be attacked and belittled for expressing these beautiful qualities that makes humanity – Human.

Changing yourself AND rising over adversity

Here’s an example of ζ‡ηŸ³ (Kaiseki Ryori) A traditional kind of Gourmet cuisine from Japan, composed by a lot of little different dishes, behind each one there’s a different taste, texture, techniques, shapes and colors.

Whether you like it or not – CHANGE is the only way to keep yourself relevant.

But why do i say that? isn’t being “stable” in life, considered a wiser and risk-free alternative? Might be, but is it as effective when it comes to overcoming the challenges that life presents you with on a daily basis? Let me explain :

You may be wondering by now why i have introduced you to this topic with a brief explanation of Kaiseki Ryori, and you might be saying : “What is this dude even talking about?! Food and challenges?” HEY, just hear me out, it’s all… connected.

Just how each and every little dish that this traditional way of caressing an individual’s palate enables the client to experience the multilayered flavors of the course, you too have some tools at your disposal that can help you see and act… differently.

I’m talking about Habits. In this kind of cuisine, a lot of different flavors are used, mixed and matched with a specific technique related to the dish itself, and by doing so the main protagonist of the dish has all of its characteristic enhanced, set and ready to give its best in the client’s mouth – If you think about it and try to apply this mindset when approaching your problems, it’s EASILY more effective because you’re tackling the problem with all the tools and methods you need to solve it. The tricky thing though is developing these habits – these little foundations on which, in my opinion, a person should be based on.

These habits may vary from individual, but i’d like to list a few of my favorites :

  • Consuming Healthy & Nutritious Food
  • Exercise regularly
  • Being more Disciplined
  • Learn new things everyday

If you have a strong mind and a strong body, and by extent – some good habits – you will find that dealing with your problems becomes incredibly easier, here i just gave you a bunch of examples, but habits can be adapted pretty much anywhere because you create and maintain them to suit YOUR needs. For example : Are you afraid of social interactions and you wish you were more talkative and affable? Create a habit to talk to at least one random stranger a day, without resorting to the same topic. You will see that after a week it’ll feel a lot better and you improved. In the end, habits are tools that you must master and keep on repeatingly use so you can reap fruits out of them.

It doesn’t take much, you just need to make the first step and then keeping on making other little steps, you can be sure to see amazing results by doing this – And as i was comparing all the little attentions and ways of cooking a specific food, habits are exactly the same thing, little details that’ll make things good.

So you can clearly see that by NOT changing, experimenting and trying things out by making the first step – not only you’d devoid yourself of being able to see things in a new light, at the same time you would be making yourself a disservice by lacking your tools for being able to solve your problems. Being flexible and forcing yourself to adapt is Key.

And now i will end my point with one of my favorite quotes from one of my favorite inspiring individual :

I was going through his website and a lot of things began to whirl into my mind, go check him out, it DESERVES your time, if you’re into changing yourself & creating wealth to achieve what i’m going to talk about.

Freedom. Ahhh, so longed. yet not too much to make an individual stop and think : “Hey, maybe breaking my back every day at this job i hate isn’t the right way to achieve it“. And why would this thought ever cross a mind of anyone leading this kind of lifestyle? It won’t, right? though sometimes it can happen, the thought process will just probably end with affirmations like these : “It’s too risky” , “I can’t do that, i’m not capable enough“, “What if i fail? No, i don’t want to live on the streets, i’m fine like this, it could be worse for me.” – These are all understandable thoughts, i had these thoughts too in the past. But don’t you think that by doing this, a person it’s just putting shackles on themselves? how can you know how much can you lift without ever clinching the barbell? You can’t. And by doing this you’re automatically killing your chances to take a shot at True Freedom.

But what do i mean when i say “True Freedom”? it’s nothing special, really, though its values and significance may vary from person to person, the core principle is this : You can structure, use and manage your time in whichever way you find fit. That means that if you want to sleep\go visit the world\ spend your time doing what you love, you can do that without a care in the world… or almost. Because to do that you need to have some kind of income, right? and you may ask what kind of work gives you THAT much freedom and flexibility… i’d say, work you cherish and love – work that you ENJOY doing and at the same time covers all of your expenses even without you actively managing it. This is called “Passive Income” – you basically make money when you’re away, when you sleep, ecc… So yeah, starting your own business! – and you might say “Duh! if it was this easy everyone would do it.” Yeah, i personally don’t think that’s easy, since i am too on this journey to achieve everything that i’m telling you… but put it like this : Do you think you’re just… one of the “Everyone”? you don’t know that until you really challenge yourself and your ideals, and yes, of course it’s not easy – but would you rather do something easy that keeps you in the same spot, angry, sad, without any Freedom or time to live the life YOU want… or would you rather do something Difficult – but definitely doable, and live a life it’s worth living?

Do NOT underestimate yourself and the ability to change your situation, YOU hold the keys to do so, no one else.

So… i did a little thingy – let’s start.

I tried to start this gig where i’ll instruct you on how to lose weight and build muscle.
